BIO:

I am a queer-identified intern therapist currently pursuing my masters degree at Northwestern University. I practice from an anti-oppressive, sex-positive, multicultural and social justice lens treating both individuals and couples.

My practice centers the lived experience of my clients, acknowledging that they are the expert of themselves and their life. Many of my clients come with intersecting identities surrounding sexual orientation, ethnicity, oppression, and trauma.

Areas of practice:

Individuals, LGBTQIA+, trans issues, polyamorous, kinky and sex positive communities.

Issues: Sex and sexuality, gender exploration, depression, anxiety, trauma.

Accessibility and my practice:

I have witnessed the inequalities that land people in debt, and the inaccessibility of healthcare in our society. I am grateful to be working as an intern at Heartfelt Mental Health providing services that might otherwise be out of financial reach.

I hold a safe space for work and introspection, where hard conversation, and hard questions can happen with trust and a
cceptance. I promise to show up authentically, reliably, and with my whole self as we engage in this work together.

Community:

I struggled to find a community I felt a part of in my youth. Finding the LGBTQIA+ community allowed me to develop relationships on a deeper level than I had been able to before. I am passionate about supporting this community now as I pursue my degree in mental health counseling. I believe that we are in need of more informed, and aware therapy professionals.

I have also seen the impact that addiction has had on my community and those around me. I believe that most people have experienced addiction in some form or another, and that the struggle can be hard to see and even harder to overcome. The stigma behind addiction contributes and the more shame is attached the worse the outcome. In my practice I strive to create an accepting and shame free environment in which I can support my community and those marginalized by our society.

After Hours:

Having a creative outlet and engaging in self-care are important practices for myself, as my clients know when I remind them about it for their lives.

I love to roller-skate, listen to disco tunes, and spend time dancing at various roller rinks in the area.

I have a fascination for street art/graffiti and painting faces. I have too much art, art supplies, and it is sure to only grow! When not skating or painting, you can find me outside hanging out with friends or hula hooping in my free time.
